Saying goodbye is never easy and in this case, saying it about the River Road Branch is no less true.

It is with mixed emotions that I announce the closing of CGI’s very first office, the River Road branch. As we consolidate our operations with the Warrens branch, I can’t help but to reflect on the history and fond memories that River Road holds for me.

The journey of CGI Consumers’ Guarantee Insurance began at River Road, where a dedicated team—Bruce Bayley, Kay Phillips, Kathie-Ann Taitt, Sumayya Spencer and myself came together to build something extraordinary. The office wasn't the space it is today. In fact, during our initial phase, we operated out of Bruce's attic. Those early days were filled with a spirit of camaraderie and teamwork, with everyone rolling up their sleeves and tackling everything from administrative duties to office upkeep.

River Road was more than just an office; it was a place where lifelong memories were made. We fondly remember the Friday afternoon limes at the Boatyard, where the team would unwind after a long week. As the business grew, space became a premium, and some of our team members had to operate out of a basement office in Belleville.

As we say farewell to River Road, we would like to announce that the parking capacity at Warrens has been doubled, thanks to an agreement with a nearby landowner to provide additional parking for our staff. This expansion will ensure that any parking concerns are met and that we are able to accommodate all of our customers comfortably.

We take this opportunity to express our gratitude to all of the policyholders who have supported us in the early years and those who continue to place their trust in us. Our success has been built on your devotion and support, and we look forward to continuing to serve you with the same dedication and commitment.
