Whittlesea Historical Society Needs A Home
The Whittlesea Historical Society had its beginnings over 35 years ago and seeks to promote and preserve the history of the municipality and region through a program of social activities, talks, tours, research projects, displays and archiving, conducted by our enthusiastic group of dedicted volunteers. The Society is a ‘not for profit’ organisation, but we do have expenses such as insurance, rental of our meeting room, post office box rental, ect.
Over the 35 years we have amassed a considerable collection of memorabilia, photos, documents and artifacts, that deserve to be shared with the general public, and not locked away in a safe.
The absense of a permanent home makes it extremely difficult for the society to progress.
Despite our best efforts over the previous years we still find ourselves without a permanent home. We have a ‘Donations Box’, which we carry to all our public events, and the society gratefully accepts any donations.
