So you’ve thought about tidying up your finances but the idea of seeing a financial advisor and laying it all out on the table is a bit daunting? To help lessen the fear, we thought we’d tell you exactly what happens in our initial appointment:

1. We have a chat where we will discuss your personal situation, assets, debts, income, expenses, insurance policies and estate plans 🏠️
2. We speak about your personal values and how they align with a life you want to lead and create a plan to get there ✨️
3. We buy the coffee! ☕️

From there, we make a plan to help you get to your goals whether that be through us or a partner of ours such as a lawyer. We work really hard within the local community to ensure our referrals are to quality businesses that we would personally work with.

Last week I had the pleasure of presenting with Jenny from Sprout Ed on ‘Managing your Financial Future’. Thank you to Women in Business Wagga Wagga Inc for the opportunity to speak about what I love, and for creating such a welcoming space for women to connect and share.

I shared a little of my story and shed some light on what on earth a financial adviser does. I also had a chat about the importance of investing for women. Did you know:

- 58% of Australian investors are men and only 42% are women
- the median investment portfolio value is $155,000 for men and $90,000 for women?!*

There are a lot of reasons we put off our investment journey but the best thing you can do for your financial future is just start! There is no such thing as the ‘perfect’ investment. Start small and aim to grow, keep learning, and be consistent.

The biggest misconception when it comes to financial advice? You need to be wealthy to work with a financial adviser.
