✨ International Women’s Day – Community, Connection & Empowerment ✨

Over the past few weeks, Officiency had the opportunity to attend and contribute to several International Women’s Day events across our local business communities.

Each event brought together inspiring women in business and leadership, with a shared focus on connection, collaboration, and supporting progress.

At the City of Glen Eira event, Hana was honoured to be part of a panel discussion alongside other local business leaders, sharing insights on business, the importance of thinking beyond the day-to-day, and the value of financial literacy for women.

At the Fresh Networking breakfast, the theme “Give to Gain” highlighted how sharing knowledge, support, and opportunities strengthens both individuals and the wider community.

And at the Monash Women’s Business Network lunch, we heard from keynote speaker Jo Stanley, who shared reflections on leadership and creating opportunities for women, as well as her work supporting Fitted for Work.

Across all events, one message stood out:
strong communities create stronger businesses.

At Officiency, we believe that financial clarity and confidence play a key role in that, empowering business owners to make informed decisions and move forward with purpose.

We’re proud to be part of such supportive local communities and to contribute to conversations that empower women in business.

🌟 November Wrap – Supporting Clients, Community & Growth

November has been a month full of meaningful work, client wins, and community connection; the kind of month that reminds me exactly why I do what I do at Officiency.

Two highlights stood out:
✨ Joining the City of Glen Eira as a Business Mentor — a role I’m genuinely honoured to step into
✨ Supporting new clients who were significantly behind with their bookkeeping to catch up, become compliant, and finally breathe again

From there, the month continued with purpose:
✨ Volunteering at Monash Public Library
✨ Speaking at the Capture Your Purpose (CYP) Inner Circle in-person event on Financial Literacy Made Simple
✨ Delivering the Canva for Beginners workshop for CYP online
✨ Guest speaking with Caroline Yego at the Financial Literacy for Direct Care Workers session
✨ Attending multiple networking events, including Bookkeeping Professional Networking
✨ Several Fresh Networking meetings and meaningful one-on-one catch-ups with members and guests
✨ City of Monash End-of-Year Small Business & Sole Trader Networking Event
✨ Eastern Innovation end-of-year event

Behind the scenes, Officiency has been busy:
✔ Finalising several catch-up jobs
✔ Onboarding new clients
✔ Payroll, reconciliations and BAS lodgements
✔ Helping business owners get up to date, compliant and confident again

This month reminded me how powerful clarity, connection and community support can be for small business owners.

Feeling grateful and ready for a strong December.

A fresh Monday is the perfect time to reset your systems, even if it’s been a while.

If you’ve fallen behind on your bookkeeping or feel out of rhythm, remember:
✨ You don’t need to fix everything today.
✨ You don’t need the perfect plan.
✨ You just need to start where you are.

Try one small step:
✨ Log into your bookkeeping software and check one thing - your bank feed, an invoice, or your cash flow.

Small actions create clarity.

I am really pleased to share that I will be joining Caroline, a workplace wellbeing and resilience advocate, for an online conversation created especially for the people who care for our community every day - health, disability, aged-care, and community-care workers.

Care work takes so much heart, energy, and emotional strength. And while care workers look after everyone else, their own financial wellbeing is often the last thing they have time or headspace for.

Caroline and I will be having a real, honest conversation about financial confidence, how to make day-to-day money decisions feel lighter, how to budget with purpose, understand super, and plan for the future in a way that feels achievable, not overwhelming.

This session is designed to be supportive, practical, and completely jargon-free.
If you or your team work in direct care, I would genuinely love to support you at this event.

📅 Reminder for Employers

September Superannuation Guarantee (SG) payments are due by 28 October 2025.

❗This is the date the funds must reach your employees’ super accounts, so it’s best to lodge and pay by 20 October to stay on the safe side.

❗Late payments can lead to Super Guarantee charges and penalties, so don’t leave it to the last minute.

Need a hand with payroll or super compliance?
I’m here to help you stay compliant and stress-free.

🌟 Mid-Quarter Check-In: How Are Your Books Looking? 🌟

We’re already through the first quarter of the new financial year.
This is the perfect moment to pause and check in with your business finances:

✅ Are your accounts reconciled?
✅ Have you reviewed payroll and super since July’s changes?
✅ Are receipts and expenses up to date?
✅ Is your BAS on track for the first quarter?

Getting into good habits now means less stress later especially when EOFY comes quicker than we think.

If you’re feeling behind, don’t wait until deadlines creep up. A little bit of support now saves a lot of stress later.

Reach out anytime if you’d like help staying on top of things this quarter.

Another Year of Trust

✨Today I’m celebrating the renewal of my BAS Agent registration!

✨For small business owners, this matters because it means your bookkeeping, BAS, payroll, and super are managed by someone qualified, recognised, and committed to professional standards.

❗It’s also an important reminder: always check your provider’s qualifications and registrations. Choosing an unregistered bookkeeper might look cheaper, but it can lead to costly mistakes, compliance issues, and unnecessary stress.

✨Behind the licence is a simple goal, giving business owners peace of mind that their books are accurate, compliant, and in safe hands. That way, you can focus on doing what you do best: running and growing your business.

Over the weekend I had the privilege to present another workshop for E-Girl Empowerment Initiative. on smart budgeting and financial literacy for women.

We explored money personalities and worked together in groups to work on real life budgeting scenarios. It was great seeing everyone in engaging discussions and conversations.
Financial literacy is about more than numbers; it’s about confidence and making smarter decisions.

Looking forward to be presenting at the next event in October 🩷

💛 R U OK Day

Running a business can be exciting and rewarding, but it can also be overwhelming, isolating, and stressful at times. We often focus so much on taking care of our clients, staff, and families that we forget the most important piece of the puzzle: ourselves.

Today, on R U OK? Day, we’re reminded that checking in — with ourselves and with others — truly matters.
💛 Take a pause
💛 Prioritise your wellbeing
💛 Reach out if things feel heavy
💛️ Remember you don’t have to do it all alone

Just like keeping your books in order helps your business run smoothly, taking care of your mental health helps you thrive.

So today, ask someone you care about: R U OK? And if you need support yourself, reaching out is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Let’s look after each other — in business and in life.
