What are Interest Rates doing now ?
A quick update on which direction Rates are being pushed ,

After the Government changes - earlier in the year , it was common thought that spending would reduce and rates would follow ,
but ....

We are actually see increased expenditure by consumers and business , which would put pressure on rates to increase :(

The next Reserve bank board meeting will be at the end on September ,

So everone out there - Stop spending all that money and put it in the piggy bank instead !!!

Good News !!!

Inflation has dropped June quarter . The traget inflation is still higher that the Reserve Bank would like to be , but good news for rate pressure going down again .

Obviously we aren't at the place of rates dropping yet - but going the right way !!

Interesting Stat for the day ,

New Sales Listings of Residential Dwellings for last 60 days , (rounded)

Melbourne , down 14%
Sydney, down 4%
Brisbane , down 26%
Toowoomba , up 6 %

What do the Big 4 Bank Think Rates are Doing ??

Currently we are having increased Household Costs and increased unemployment , putting pressure on rates , in some places, dropping and other places forcats being amended.

Big 4 Bank have announced today what their Economists are expecting the next months to hold ,

ANZ, NAB & CBA - June meeting(tomorrow) expect the cash rate to stay at 4.35% for the next month's, with 2 rate hikes next year .

Westpac - June meeting(tomorrow) expecting rates to hold with further increas later in the year .

Will see what the reteric is tomorrow ......

Rates are DROPPING

This week has seen some Lenders dropping fixed rates,

This quite often is a pre cursor to what Banks are expecting Reserve Bank to do

Inflation and Cost of living increases are certainly putting some pressure on at present
