We want to take this opportunity to present the benefits of our insurance policies to vendors and buyers or connections of those who are looking to insure their listed stallions, mares or sales purchases through this platform:

👌🏻 RENEWAL EXTENSION CLAUSE 👌🏻

All annual mortality insurance policies are eligible for a renewal extension up to 14 years (regardless of the sum insured).

What does this mean?
Owners can skip the hassle of needing vet certificates and health documents for renewal each year up to this age. It also means that should the horse contract an injury or illness during the policy period and underwriters have been notified at the time it occurred, they will not exclude those conditions on the policy during this extension period.

We pay out the sum insured and no less. Simple. No excess. No additional premiums. This is the standard we set and clients can rest assured they are not risking getting less than what they paid for.

🛟 $20,000 LIFE SAVING SURGERY 🛟

The only brokerage to offer this high limit cover in Australia/NZ. We all know surgical procedures (especially colic) continue to rise in costs for clients. This higher cover limit better protects you when the unexpected happens and emergency surgery is needed to save your horse’s life. This is not limited to colic. Other common procedures performed under sedation or general anaesthetic that could be claimed under this extension include severe laceration, septic joint, uterine tears, emergency c-section etc. and more!

No need for a vet check for any horse aged 60 days to 14 years old for an insurance policy with the sum insured up to $50,000 for mortality and life saving surgery covers.

📣 What is a Renewal Extension Clause and how does it benefit me? 🤔

At Howden Equine Australia, all of our annual mortality policies (regardless of the sum insured) have an imbedded clause known as a renewal extension.

This means that the policy can renew each year at expiry, without the need for any health documents or veterinary certificates, until the horse reaches 14 years of age.

It also means that if the horse obtains an injury or illness within the policy period and is notified to Howden Equine, underwriters will renew without exclusion until the horse reaches 14 years of age. Once the horse reaches 14 years of age, the policy is subject to a 12-month Extension Clause, meaning if the horse contracts an injury or illness during the policy period, the condition cannot be excluded for another 12 months.

This is not a standard policy inclusion for all equine insurance. We offer it because we want to provide a better service to our clients.
