That $28k car? It’s could actually cost you $36k. 👀

Most people don’t think about the real cost of a loan but interest adds up over time. The good news? Compound interest works both ways.

The same force that costs you on a loan can be working for you instead. Small changes to your spending habits now can make a big difference to your future self.

Sharesies was recently mentioned in the Sydney Morning Herald, where Nicole Pedersen-McKinnon () talks all about this. She also recommended finding an app that suits your lifestyle to make managing and growing your money feel easy—and gave Sharesies a shoutout as a great place to start.

Noticed your Sharesies portfolio dip?

Sharemarket volatility is something every investor encounters and right now, conflict and global uncertainty is causing markets to move.

Widespread disruption to trade, energy prices, and supply chains are among the major drivers, and you may see your investments fluctuate in the coming weeks.

While this may feel unsettling, it’s a reminder that share markets go up and down. Historically, markets have always bounced back—we’re talking World Wars, recessions, pandemics, and more.

So, what can you do? Stay calm, think long term, and avoid selling in panic (which can lock in losses). Diversifying your investments and using strategies like dollar-cost averaging can help smooth out the bumps.
