I think we can get very good at making decisions within the parameters of our lives.
What needs doing.
What makes sense.
What works for the family.
What the business needs.
What we can realistically fit in.
And we can make those decisions really well.
But that’s not quite the same as asking ourselves what we actually want.
I think noticing that matters.
Because sometimes “I don’t know” can start to feel like there’s something we need to figure out. Like the answer is buried somewhere and if we think hard enough, journal enough or make the right pros and cons list, eventually we’ll find it.
Maybe we don’t always need a big answer.
Maybe we just need to start paying attention again.
To the things we keep being drawn towards.
What we miss.
What gives us energy.
What we wish there was a little more room for.
Not because every one of those things needs to become a goal or a big life change.
Just because they might be telling us something.
And that feels like a pretty good place to start.
