Seddon Uniting Community

Seddon Uniting Community The Seddon Community Group began after the closure of the bank to bring one back.

They started the Maribyrnong Makers Market, Snapshots of Seddon, and the Festival. Their base, the Seddon Uniting Church continues to support the Seddon Community today. The Seddon Community Group was formed in 1997 after the Commonwealth Bank announced its Seddon Branch would be closed. The Group met regularly and worked to stop the closure, and when unsuccessful to find a new Bank, leading to th

e edtablishment of the Bendigo Community bank in Charles Street. The Seddon Community Group was active to support local amenity and environmental improvements. Its work has included the Seddon Festival, Snapshots of Seddon, and Community Markets as well as supporting residents with inappropriate developments in section 14 in the Parish of Cut Paw Paw. The group is significantly inactive now but Residents facilitate this page and the aims of the group were to:

-Foster a strong sense of local community, mutual support and friendship in the community.

-To improve the ongoing viability of local shopping centers by enhancing their appearance of amenities and promoting a safe and friendly shopping environment.

-To foster and strengthen community identity through improvements to the public realm and the enhancement of the existing residential character.

Great day at Playgroup on Monday with volunteers contributing in so many ways. Our early childhood educators are a wealth of information, skills and experience. We are also making our own Play-Doh of late and sharing the recipe here.

This looks like a terrific Development🥳

Some new art has gone into Footscray Mall, it's quite striking and the manner in which the lady in yellow seems to look straight at you is somehow very reassuring as you walk by. Congrats to the artist and well done to the council for engaging with original art. 🎨 And of course, if you enjoy art, please come to Sketchy Behaviour with Roxy Rawhide (Creative Art Workshop), Pride's monthly art experience for all levels 💜
