Issued at 10:31 am Sunday, 25 May 2025.

DAMAGING, POSSIBLY DESTRUCTIVE WINDS DEVELOPING OVER SOUTH AUSTRALIA FROM THIS EVENING.

Weather Situation: A vigorous cold front will approach South Australia today, it is forecast to cross the coast overnight tonight. Northwesterly winds will strengthen ahead of the front from this afternoon, before shifting more westerly behind it tonight and spreading over eastern inland areas during Monday morning. Conditions will gradually improve on Monday night, with winds easing by Tuesday morning.

Northwesterly strong to DAMAGING WINDS averaging 60 to 70 km/h with peak gusts of around 110 km/h are possible for Kangaroo Island and coastal parts of the West Coast, Lower Eyre Peninsula and York Peninsula districts from late Sunday afternoon, before spreading to the southern Fleurieu Peninsula and coastal parts of the far southeast on Sunday night. Conditions will then deteriorate further during Monday morning behind the front, with possible DAMAGING WINDS spreading north to Adelaide and inland parts of the warning area, including elevated parts of the Flinders district by midday.

Locally DESTRUCTIVE WIND GUSTS with peak gusts in excess of 125 km/h are possible from Monday morning for areas of the coastal fringe between the western Eyre Peninsula and the Victoria state border and may cause SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO HOMES AND PROPERTY.

Damaging winds are forecast to ease below warning thresholds over inland areas overnight on Monday, and for coastal areas by late Tuesday morning.

Dry soils bring an increased risk of gusty winds toppling trees.

A separate warning for ABNORMALLY HIGH TIDES is current. Please refer to http://www.bom.gov.au/warnings/

Locations which may be affected include Adelaide, Port Lincoln, Whyalla, Renmark, Mount Gambier, Ceduna, Murray Bridge, Kingscote and Naracoorte.

Last Friday we were honoured to be a sponsor of the annual ANZIIF Charity Luncheon. This year’s event once again supported the valuable work of Guide Dogs SA/NT, 🦮 an organisation that supports people of all ages, with different vision levels, to achieve freedom and independence.
________________________________________________________________

To get in the spirit of cheering on these valuable support dogs, we ran a competition alongside Waggle & Woof for a 6 month toy subscription service! If you were in attendance of this event, you should have been able to pick up the entry pet bandana package 🐶

Though, due to Facebook’s rather snappy privacy settings, it’s come to our attention that depending on your privacy settings, we may not have had the opportunity to “oo” and “naww” at your entry photos of your beautiful pets! 🥹🐾

If your profile settings are tightly locked up, make sure you send your photo entry to us via a Direct Message with permission for us to repost your photo to make sure you’re still in the running to win!

We will extend the entry period until this Thursday 22nd May 2025 and will announce a winner Friday 23rd May 2025

Thank you all for getting involved! 🦴🐾🦮🐶
