A question I get asked all the time is are debt collection fees deductible?

The short answer is Yes, as long as the debtor has signed a written agreement with trade terns which state that the creditor uses a debt collection agent to handle overdue accounts and the costs incurred by those services will be passed on.

Yo, Jacinta Allan and the Vic Labor squad let's have a real chat about where the money's going while our backyard's literally on fire.

You've slashed CFA funding hard.

Dropped from around $370 million a couple years back down to $328 million for 2025-26.

That's a $42 million hit just for CFA, part of a bigger $165 million cut across emergency services including FRV and VicSES.

Trucks older than some of your policies, rapid response gear grounded, volunteers begging for basics while the Longwood fire chews through towns like Alexandra right now.

Meanwhile, what do you splash cash on? That $13 million machete amnesty scheme.

Yeah, the one with those fancy blue bins parked outside police stations.

Opposition screamed $325,000 each, government says nah, bins themselves were only about $2,400 a pop (maybe prison-made, who knows).

But the whole project campaigns, ads, education, destruction of surrendered weapons still hit taxpayers for $13 million.

And here's the kicker, it was a total flop for actually stopping crime. Amnesty ended November 30, claimed thousands handed in (around 9,000 bladed weapons total, including machetes), but machete attacks kept popping up after.

Criminals don't stroll up to a CCTV-monitored bin and go, "Here ya go, officer, take my illegal chopper." That's like expecting bank robbers to deposit their loot in a charity box.

Pure lacking-brain-cells energy.

No one carrying one illegally is handing it in voluntarily it's a feel-good publicity stunt that did sweet FA to dry up the real supply on the streets.

You fund gimmicks like that while CFA heroes the actual legends doing more for Victorians than your whole cabinet combined get budget crumbs.

They're out there saving lives, homes, entire communities from turning to ash, with outdated fleets and slashed resources.

Meanwhile, you're prioritizing bins that scream "stupid idea" louder than a smoke alarm.

This isn't smart governing.

It's priorities so backwards it's hilarious if it wasn't so dangerous.

Pouring money into vanity projects and failed experiments while failing the people who actually show up when sh*t hits the fan?

That's harming and hindering Aussies who pay your wages.

Time to stop the nonsense.

Fund the CFA properly.

Give the volunteers the gear, trucks, and support they deserve before more homes burn and more lives are at risk.

No more excuses.

Fix it.

Or explain to the families in Alexandra, Ruffy, Strathbogie, Merton, Yarck, Molesworth, Bonnie Doon, Lake Eildon, Thornton, Yea, Ancona, Gooram, Woodfield, Fawcett, Devils River, Maintongoon, Caveat, Creightons Creek, Dropmore, Gobur, Highlands, Kanumbra, Kelvin View, Locksley, Longwood East, Tarcombe, Terip Terip, Upton Hill, Whiteheads Creek, Avenel, Tallangallook, Limestone, Cathkin, Ghin Ghin, Killingworth, Koriella, Whanregarwen and every other tiny spot, farm, and dirt road in the Longwood fire's savage path right now. why machete bins got millions while fireys got cuts. 🔥🚒
