Is your small business ready for the upcoming changes around card surcharging? 💳

From 1 October 2026, surcharges on card payments are no longer permitted. This applies to EFTPOS, Mastercard, Visa and American Express transactions.

Here is what we recommend doing before the deadline:

📋 Review your payment systems and identify where card surcharges are currently in place
📋 Review your pricing and business costs to understand the financial impact
📋 Inform and train your staff so everyone is across the change
📋 Keep an eye out for communications from your merchant service provider
