This week I had the privilege of attending a networking breakfast , survivors r us are a not for profit charity supporting survivors of domestic violence , their mission is to create a future free from domestic violence.

I felt very humbled being able to attend and hear from other businesses/charities and what they are doing to be able to give back to the community.

Whilst in attendance I learnt that there is a school in our area which has children who are coming to school without haven eaten in days and the school had reached out to survivors r us for support with having donations of food, as a mum myself I found it hard to picture my own children in this position, so I used what I knew and reached out to our local Cole’s here in Kotara, I spoke to the store manager Matt and explained the situation, Matt was totally on board, “let’s us know what you need, when you need it and how we can get it there” was exactly his response!

Although my part to play was extremely small on the scheme of things , had I not gone & listened to what is happening in our community the connection to help solve a small part of the problem may have gone unresolved.

In this moment I feel very proud to be apart of such a fantastic community!
