📣 Heads up, Small Business owners! The Small Business Super Clearing House (SBSCH) will be under maintenance 🛠️ from 24-25 June.

Want to claim a tax deduction for the current fiscal year? Ensure your super payments reach the fund no later than 30 June 2023 📅.

Given the upcoming SBSCH downtime, you might need to tweak your payment schedule. This will help guarantee your super payment arrives on time 💼.

Payments made post 30 June may not be eligible for tax deduction claims for this financial year ❌💰.

Remember, the Superannuation Guarantee (SG) rate applies when an employee is paid 💵, not when the income is earned. Apply the new SG rate of 11% for all salaries and wages paid from 1 July 2023 onwards, even if the pay period falls before this date 🗓️.

For instance, if the pay period ends on 30 June, but payment is made on or after 1 July, the 11% SG rate applies 👍. The SG rate is determined by the salary payment date, not when the work was done 🛠️.

Keep this in mind while calculating and making payments! Let's stay compliant and keep our businesses flourishing 💪💼.

New policies concerning superannuation, tax avoidance, and internet frauds have been outlined in the 2023 Australian Federal Budget Update.

💰 In July 2025, the tax rate for individuals with superannuation balances of $3 million or more would increase to 30% from the current 0% to 15%.

💸 To reduce the amount of potential taxable income, the government has suggested adjustments to the Non-arm's length income regulations.

💳 Superannuation Guarantee payments will be made more regularly beginning in July 2026 to align with regular salary and wage payments.

🛡️The government is broadening the scope of the general anti-avoidance rule for income tax so that it applies to any plans that provide a tax benefit to Australian residents.

🕵️‍♀️ There will be a National Anti-Scam Centre and the ASIC will have the authority to shut down scam websites thanks to the $86.5 million given over four years to combat online scams and fraud.
