Last week our Community Bank Swansea/Bicheno team hit the road & conducted community meetings in Bicheno, Coles Bay and Swansea to discuss our commitment to you, upcoming changes to our trading hours, the power of the Community Bank Model and how you can help us make a bigger impact.
📢 Securing the Future of Local Banking on the East Coast
We are incredibly proud to stand firm as the only bank on the East Coast providing a full banking service model. Our commitment to maintaining our branches and supporting our customers in both Swansea and Bicheno is absolute.
To ensure we remain strong, sustainable, and capable of supporting you long into the future, we are making some proactive changes to how we operate.
🕒 Our New Branch Trading Hours (Effective Monday, 3 August)
The way people bank is changing. We are seeing fewer people coming in for basic transactions, and far more coming in for specialist advice. Operating two branches on common trading days has split our staff thin, making us vulnerable to unplanned sickness and sometimes forcing us to close a branch at short notice.
To fix this, we are consolidating our days to ensure we always have a strong, reliable team available when our doors are open:
Swansea Branch: Open Monday & Wednesday (Full-Service)
Bicheno Branch: Open Tuesday & Thursday (Full-Service)
Fridays (Alternating between branches): Open by appointment only for your bigger banking needs (loans, financial reviews, insurance reviews, banking support and account setups or alterations). Note: There will be no over-the-counter cash transactions on Fridays.

We are thrilled to confirm that no staff member has had their hours reduced. In fact, removing overlapping days gives us the opportunity to offer our team more hours in the future, helping us build a stronger local workforce.
We also know that in tight-knit towns, privacy is paramount. Yes, we are your neighbours, but inside our branch doors, our team operates under the highest banking confidentiality standards.
