The government of Abu Dhabi approves the change of the weekly working schedule to be four and a half days a week, a holiday on Saturday and Sunday, and Friday a half-day working day to 12 noon as of January 1, 2022, in line with the vision of the Emirates to strengthen its global competitive location in the economic sectors And actions and keep up with global developments and trends.

Under this decision, the official working hours in government authorities will become from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm (Monday to Thursday) and Friday from 7:30 am to 12:00 pm with the application of the flexible working system.

Abu Dhabi Government to implement a four and a half working days week, with weekends moved to Saturday and Sunday, with a half-day starting 1 January 2022, in line with the UAE’s vision to enhance its global competitiveness, and keep pace with global developments.

As per the new decision, working hours across government entities will be 7:30am-3:30pm Monday to Thursday, and 7:30am-12:00pm on Friday. While regular flexible timings remain applicable.
