Not sure how much to tip in Dubai?
Here’s your quick guide.
Tipping in Dubai isn’t mandatory, but it’s definitely appreciated — especially in tourist hotspots. Locals and visitors alike often wonder: what’s the right amount?
Here’s what’s generally expected:
👉🏻 Restaurants & cafés: If there’s no service charge, aim for 10–15% of the bill. In casual cafés, it’s fine to just round up or leave 5–10 AED
👉🏻 Taxis & ride-shares: Round up the fare or add 5–10 AED, especially if the driver helps with luggage
👉🏻 Salons & spas: 10–15% is the usual standard
👉🏻 Delivery drivers: 5–10 AED, especially for fast service or during bad weather
The tricky part? While tipping is appreciated, many businesses still can’t handle digital tips properly. That’s exactly what we’re here to change.
