Dubai has initiated the concept of Global Village in retail sector, envisaged vast potential in creating specially designated zones for its different industrial sectors. Recognizing the importance of a fast growing Printing and Publishing Sector with secured print orders form regional and international levels, the emirate of Dubai rose to the occasion by launching the first project of its kind in the world, that of establishing and international Media production zone, which we believe will make Dubai the Printing Capital of the world in the near future.

Heading the PPG are Mohammad Al Hashimi of Emirates Trans Graphics as Chairman, Zahir Hassan of Power Print as Vice Chairman, Sebastian Lonth of Reprotronics as General Secretary. Under the Patronage of H.H. Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, with the collaboration of Dubai Chamber and organized by Printing & Publishing Group. The Dubai International Print Award took place at the Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai with a record crowd of more than 500 printing industry professionals attending to witness and celebrate the winners of this year’s much sought-after DIPA trophies. Over the past few days, eight jury members have been busy deliberating on more than 400 entries from eight countries, deciding which are worthy of taking home a DIPA trophy. A total of 77 winners across 26 categories have been awarded with 26 Gold, 26 Silver and 25 Bronze trophies.
“We congratulate all of the winners for their outstanding work and contribution within the printing and publishing industry,” said Mr Mazen Haj, Chairman of the Printing and Publishing Group. “We had an impressive number of high quality entries this year, and I would especially like to thank all of the judges, who had a tough task in selecting our winners, as all entries were worthy of recognition.”

The offset printing categories included: Flyers, POS Material, Posters, Magazine, Books, Annual Reports, Cards, Calendars, Brochures, Catalogues, Directories, Box, Newspapers, Newsletter, Handcraft jobs, Own Printed Material and Innovation. Digital printing categories included now have seven categories; POS Material, Posters, Annual Reports, Cards, Brochures, Catalogues, Calendars and Flyers – Direct Mail. There were also categories for Narrow Web and Flat Bed Digital Inkjet – for the POSM Free Standing Unit.
