UAE VAT compliance is entering a new phase.

From 1 October 2026, businesses will face additional requirements to verify the validity and integrity of suppliers and supplies before claiming Input VAT.

The new FTA requirements mean businesses should strengthen their supplier due diligence, transaction verification, documentation, and internal VAT controls to ensure their input tax claims are properly supported.

Big shift in UAE Transfer Pricing rules - is your business ready?

The FTA has issued Public Clarification CTP011, clarifying how downward Transfer Pricing adjustments work under the Corporate Tax Law.

Here's what's changed:

⚠️ Every downward adjustment must now be disclosed in full - regardless of transaction value
đź“‹ You'll need solid backup: rationale, benchmarking analysis, and reconciliation
🔄 Symmetry is key - you must prove the related party made a matching upward adjustment

In short: more flexibility, but also more responsibility. The FTA has moved its review to the audit stage - so unsupported adjustments can mean penalties and back-taxes down the line.

If your business deals with related-party transactions, this is one to get right.

Building a new home? You could save VAT on the construction of your new home.

The UAE's Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has expanded the scope of expenses eligible for VAT refunds under the home construction scheme, creating even greater savings opportunities for homeowners.

With more expenses now qualifying for refunds, UAE nationals building new homes may be able to recover a larger portion of their construction costs and make their budgets go further.

If you're planning a new build or are already under construction, now is the time to review your eligible expenses and take full advantage of the updated VAT refund rules.
